About
Kerry Guinan is an artist and artistic researcher from Ireland, currently based in Sweden. She produces installation, live networked art, performance, participatory art, photography, and film, among other media. A central concern of her practice is how people are connected across distance through systems and networks that are difficult to apprehend, particularly in a globalised context. Her work renders these connections perceptible through gestures that are physically subtle yet conceptually expansive.
Guinan completed her PhD by practice in TUS: Midlands Midwest, Ireland in 2025. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Art and the Political Imaginary, a centre for excellence in artistic research based across HDK Valand and Kungliga Konsthögskolan, Sweden. Recent exhibitions include ‘Idiorrhythmic Imaginaries’ at Kuva/Till, Helsinki (2025), ‘Staying with the Trouble’, the Irish Museum of Modern Art (2025), and ‘Distance is a Measure of Closeness (solo), Ormston House, Limerick (2025).
